Retrieving ELSTER data and the activation code
How to take over the data the tax office already has and why a letter arrives.
What is retrieved
The tax office already has a lot of data, such as your wage tax certificate. With your consent we take it over as suggestions.
The activation code
For the retrieval the tax office sends you an activation code by letter. This usually takes one to two weeks. You can carry on as normal in the meantime.
Differences
If a retrieved value does not match your answer or a document, we show you both values and you decide.
